I'm in Ukiah, CA this evening off of Rt 101.  I'm about 100 miles northwest of Napa.

I started the day just north of Klamath, CA in the Redwood Natl and State Parks.  This area is right near the coast and I was luckily enough to catch the sunset last night.

I never saw so much driftwood on the beach before.

As I started today, I was riding in some fog and cold but the ocean was still quite beautiful.

Okay...eerie and beautiful.

As I headed south, the day cleared and I felt very lucky to take in all changes of the fall colors around.  This is quite a pretty time of year.

About 100 miles south of Klamath, there is a beautiful byway called the "Avenue of the Giants"  It is 37 mile ride through the Redwoods of the area.  It was quite awe inspiring especially with colors changing.

I was mapping out some routes to New Mexico tonight.  Since I have been to Death Valley, I thought I might go farther south and go by the Mojave National Preserve instead.  This will leave me some time to go  the Grand Canyon if I want to hit a couple other places in Arizona or New Mexico.

Then again...I have never really kept a planned route very well so who knows which way I will go in a few days.

Tomorrow will be Napa though.  Maybe I will have wine with lunch.  Only one though, I am riding.

Now this was a big tree.
